“Flavors of Southern Italy”

         Food & Wine Tasting

In a departure from our traditional Halloween costumed gathering or an auction, the Museum invites you to a relaxed evening celebrating the timeless pairings of Southern Italian food and wine. Certified Wine Educator Mark Cochard and Chef Peter Howell will match a multi course tasting of wine and food from the five regions of Southern Italy. Fromager Carl Finkbeiner will curate the cheese course. Grounded in rustic cucina povera (peasant cooking), Mediterranean sunshine, and a rich maritime history, Southern Italian gastronomy swaps the butter and cream of the north for extra virgin olive oil, sun-ripened produce, sea-salt preserved ingredients, and bold heat. Is there any better way to spend a lovely evening in late October?
