DESCRIPTION:Old Fashioned Picnic\nThe 2026 Family Day\non the grounds of Thunderbird Lodge\nSaturday\, May 16th  – 5-8pm (Rain date: May 17th)\nJoin us at Thunderbird Lodge on Saturday\, May 16th for a traditional community picnic on the grounds.  Hamburgers\, hot dogs and veggie burgers\, veggies\, salads\, Franklin Fountain ice cream plus toppings\, sodas and adult beverages will be the fare for the day. There will be activities for the kids\, live music by the Noisy Neighbors\, and “Jack’s Bar” will be open and may have a specialty libation for the afternoon.\nSaturday\, May 16\, 2026\, 5-8pm\nDonation: $45 per person ($40 per member); $15 ages 11-17; 10 and under free \n\nReservations requested by\, May 14th at 9pm\, so we can gauge food supplies. DESCRIPTION:“Members Only Open House”\nGlen Castle\nThe home of Jeanne and Jim Thomas\n221 W. Possum Hollow Road\, Rose Valley\, PA 19086\nSunday\, June 14\, 2026\, 5-8pm\nDonation: $25 per person (Members are permitted one additional $25 ticket for a guest.) \nHowell Lewis Shay\, known for being the arbiter of the final design for the Philadelphia Museum of Art and his many city skyscrapers\, purchased 4 acres of land in Rose Valley. While living with his family in a Price home on Porter Lane\, he designed and constructed “his dream house”\, Glen Castle. The French Normandy country estate\, finished in 1927\, is tucked into the furthest portion of the property to take advantage of the sweeping rear lawn down to Rose Valley Road. According to Bets Shay Conron\, Shay’s daughter\, Shay directed the masons on the exact placement of every single stone. \nEntrance to the house is from Porter Lane. As usual there will be light fare including assorted summer salads\, and desserts.  Beverages include wine\, beer\, cider\, ice tea and lemonade. \nRegister Now!\nReservations required by Friday\, June 12th at 9pm: call 484-444-2961 (leave a message) or email:programs@rosevalleymuseum.org.\nPayment can be made online or at the door.
